Thingwall Class of 65 turns 40!
Thanks go out to Jane O'Niell " formerly Sara Jane Haigh" and Jane Griffin for setting up the reunion of the now beautiful 40 something class of 65!
Here Jane Bissell Grants all the wishes to all those assembled.
Be careful what you wish for.....
Thingwall was indeed a magical place, other worldly yet cosmopolitan. I look back at the time I spent in Thingwall as carefree, with Thingwall Primary as the center of the universe, long summers exploring Arrow Park, Barnston Dales, and Thurstaston (sp). Trips to Wales, or shopping in Chester were rare occasions, while the F19 Crosville bus to the Birkenhead ferry seems to be commonplace, going off to Jacks Joke shop in Liverpool to buy stink bombs to be dropped in the Ferry cafeteria.
If anyone has pictures of the Manchester Airport and Alderley Edge trip, or Conway Castle, Country Dancing, sports day, Cub Scouts and Brownies, or the trip to the farm down Landican lane. How about the weekly swimming trips, or pictures of the shops, such as Jones the Butcher, Batesons, Davenports, before Asda, Sainsbury's, Tesco and the rest made them less important. How about just pictures of the streets where you could see a car or two an hour in the midday. Sorry if I seem to be rambling but collectively we can recall a great deal more.
As we track down the lost flock we shall add them and publish.
